The course aims to introduce the basic concepts relating to the social structure, discuss the theoretical fundtions and demonstrate the relationship between sociological theory of social structure and empirical research in Polish and international sociology. They will be called the three traditions in theory: The lecture covers the concept of social classes and strata and their operationalization of the various models of social differentiation and social inequality, social barriers and concepts of social mobility.
